One of our strong beliefs is - hard work and dedication leads to success. While this is true, there are a couple of factors, that impact the situation and chances - Gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, 40+ age (yeah not kidding 😊, there is a bias towards youth workforce)!

The key to true diversity, equity, and inclusion is allyship. Allies need not to be only men, anyone could be an ally.

What is an ally? An ally is any person who supports, empowers, or stands up for another person or a group of people. It’s up to people who hold positions of privilege to be active allies to those with less access, and to take responsibility for making changes that will help others be successful.

How can you become an ally; how can you help someone else to thrive? How can you build an innovative workplace fueled by equity, diversity, and belonging?

  • Learn, unlearn, and relearn - Learn to recognize historical harm and its intergenerational impact, unlearn biases from history and cultural marginalization, and relearn from new perspectives.

  • Do no harm—understand and correct our biases. Work to change our behaviors and actions to avoid unintentional harm.

  • Recognize and overcome toxic behaviors - Develop awareness and empathy skills to identify and eliminate such behaviors.

  • Advocate for people - Step up and advocate in small, everyday ways that can make big differences in people’s lives.

  • Stand up for what’s right.

  • Lead the change. When ready, take action to lead change at workplace and societal surroundings.

  • Transform your organization and society. Address biases and inequities in the broader world.

Through the power of allyship, each of us can create an equitable, innovative workplace where everyone feels safe, valued, and able to thrive. What we need is to normalize allyship. If you're a person with privilege, it's easier for you to advocate for allies. So, use that privilege to create change.

Allyship is powerful, try it!
