Overthinking and Anxiety

Overthinking is the art of creating problems that were never there in the first place.
People come to me and say, Ritu, I am feeling anxious. I’ve been working on this dream for so long.
That’s the problem, don’t you think?
You’re anxious about achieving your dream?
Where did the DREAM part go?
Isn’t it supposed to be exciting?
And that’s where many of us fall short.
As we try to achieve our dreams, we also try to beat our anxiety, and make it look like it’s all breezy to our social media followers.
Here’s my suggestion: STOP.
Stop “overcoming anxiety”.
Take your anxiety with you.
Take it as a sign that you’re moving forward, stepping out of your comfort zone.
Stop trying to prove to others what you should be proving to yourself.
Let go of the fear what people will say (char log kya kahenge). Trust me no one is bothered about what you do!
And most importantly - stop forgetting to have fun as you chase your dreams.
Make sure you can look back from the top of that mountain you’re trying to climb, and see a fun journey behind you.
