Let's Reframe Our Memory Albums!
We all have that cherished photo album filled with snapshots of our happiest moments - radiant smiles, sunny beach days, and proud moments with our parents. But guess what you won't find in there? Miserable moments! 😴
Ever seen a photo of you standing outside the principal's office at school? Nope. How about a pic of you burning the midnight oil, cramming for exams? Didn’t think so. And who has a snapshot of their divorce, a hospital bed selfie when terribly sick, or a Monday morning traffic jam? Those depressing shots never make it into anyone's photo album.
But there's another album we carry around - the one in our heads. And we stock it with all the wrong pictures! Arguments, letdowns, toxic moments - it's like a highlight reel of misery. Meanwhile, the happy snapshots barely get a look in.
This is crazy! 😂
So let's do a purge of the photo album in our head. Delete the uninspiring memories. Trash them. They do not belong in this album. In their place, put the same sort of memories that you have in a real photo album. Remember the joy of making up with your partner, the unexpected acts of kindness, or those moments when the clouds part and the sun shines with extraordinary beauty. Keep those photos in your memory.
Next time you have a few spare moments, flip through those pages. You'll find yourself smiling, maybe even laughing. ❤️
Let's craft our mental photo albums with the same care and attention as our physical ones. 💙
Life’s too short to focus on the gloomy snapshots!
Have a fantastic Friday and an energized weekend!
